faithful companions

I was able to capture a few adorable pics of our two children and had to share. They have touched our lives so deeply and we are honored to share our home with them. Complete trust, no judgments, faithful &

My big boy
Michael J. enjoys trying new foods, swimming, playing ball and a good belly scratch.
In case you are wondering, yes - his namesake is Michael J Fox (although not originally intended, it just sorta worked out that way). He also likes to be called Jaybo, Mikey, Stinkbo, Fatbo, Jay-Willikers and my personal favorite Jaybo-Baggins.

My sweet girl
Lily enjoys playing in the snow, barking at tractors & plows, cuddle time and snuffles on her sweet smelling head (I swear it smells like candy). Her namesake is after a beautiful cultivar of the Epimedium plant called 'Lilafee'. She also likes to be called Lil, Fee, Lily-pants, Lila-foof and Foofy.

they haven't any chins at all

a sweet gift from my parents for the tiny members of our household (the wreath on the door is interchangeable for the seasons)...too cute!

Poem by Rose Fyleman

I think mice are rather nice.
Their tails are long, Their faces small,
They haven't any Chins at all.

Their ears are pink, Their teeth are white.
They run around The house at night.

They nibble things They shouldn't touch
And no one seems To like them much.

But I think mice are nice.

ART in the ROUGH

I am tickled to announce our newest adventure...

Art in the Rough ~ Art Retreat for Women is an intimate gathering of like-minded souls, set in beautiful up-country Maine. If you enjoy creating, celebrating simple pleasures, exploring new techniques and want a truly unique experience...join us for a fabulous weekend of funky art & friendship.

Spaces Limited - Register Early
One of the wonderful things about Art in the Rough is that it is not an over-crowded affair. You will have plenty of room to spread out and quality, one-on-one time with your instructors.

High Style Camping ~ Luxury in the Rough
Art in the Rough - Art Retreat for Women will be held on a wonderful property in Maine country, hosted by Taryn & Scott Reece of NavelJelly Studios. As the name suggests, this is a camping retreat. But do not fret about roughing will be provided unique & elegant amenities. We like to call it “high-style camping” while others call it “glamping” or glamour-camping.

Imagine bunking in a large tent house, snuggling into an oversized, comfy cot with crisp white linens and warm blankets. You will be surrounded by special, luxurious touches including a complimentary welcome basket brimming with goodies, fresh towels & sundries.

Private hot water outdoor showers, wash-up stations, changing areas and bathrooms, accented with cool decorative touches & funky-junk. Surrounded by picturesque gardens and breathtaking views of the mountains, woods & fields. If you have yet to take a shower outdoors, you are in for a wonderful treat!

Take a nature walk, or perhaps lounge by the swimming pool. Our art barn will be available for 24 hour art-creating, for those of you who enjoy working into the night! A campfire, twinkling lights & lanterns complete the magical setting.

If you have it, you don't need to have anything else, and if you don't have it, it doesn't matter much what else you have.
